SCGI Director Erik Lidman has been appointed Professor at Stockholm University, in effect the 5 June 2025.
Serving as an associate professor and co-director of the SCGI, Erik Lidman has significantly advanced the understanding of corporate governance in listed companies and capital markets regulation through his research. His recent work delves into topics such as corporate purpose, dual class share structures, and corporate bond regulation. Lidman’s initiatives, along with his research within the SCCL, have rendered highly valuable contributions to both academic literature and legal developments. His work on the corporate bond market has significantly advanced understanding at the intersections of debt and equity capital markets, as well as the interplay between public and private regulatory spheres.
In addition to doing extensive research, teaching, and supervising PhD candidates, Lidman has provided consulting expertise to, inter alia, the OECD, the World Bank, and the Swedish Corporate Governance Board. He is an editor of the Nordic Journal of Corporate Law and holds leadership positions such as manager for the Corporate Governance Forum, vice chair for the Global Corporate Governance Colloquia, and board member of the Nordic Corporate Governance Network.
