Sara Göthlin is a newly appointed Researcher at the SCGI and also the director of the Stockholm Centre for Commercial Law (SCCL).
Sara’s research focuses, in particular, on the legal mechanisms through which creditors influence corporate decision-making, including pricing, contractual rights, collateral and restructuring. Her current projects examine how the legal framework for debt finance interacts with broader regulatory and geopolitical objectives.
Sara holds a PhD in private law from Stockholm University. She has published on subjects such as insolvency law, sustainable finance, contract law and theory, and corporate restructuring. Prior to pursuing an academic career, she was a partner with a transaction law firm in Stockholm, advising clients on bond issues, leveraged buyouts, corporate credits and derivatives.
